(IMHO) autoallocate is poor man's uniform. Its like "I want consistency to my extent sizes, but I have not done any planning to work out what those sizes are"

Uniform is the way to go ...

• no more fragmentation
• trivial to build free space checking scripts
• trivial to monitor/trend growth
