Database Structure

I am attempting to construct a new database environment but I am not sure how many hard drives to use nor what size hard drive I should use. After reviewing information from Oracle and various books, I have come to the conclusion that Oracle can operate using 4 to 22 hard drives on a server but I cannot determine the size of the hard drives.

How many hard drives should I use for Oracle and what should be the recommended size requirements for each hard drive?

Thanks, Kevin
