This way you don't need to worry about how many people on the planet will be accessing your database. However, as of the 10/19/2001 price list, the costs are $15K/CPU for Standard Edition and $40K/CPU for Enterprise Edition. The named user licenses for the same are $300 and $800 respectively. At least that's according to the information that I have.
