Hi All,

I have a question relating to silent installs of Oracle 8.1.6 on Solaris 8. I have managed to get the response file working correctly and everything seems to be working okay. The problem is that I can't seem to find any varible (in the response file) that will allow me to specify where the Inventory will be stored. It always defaults out to /vendor/oraInventory
(oracle home = /vendor/oracle) and I run a script equivalent to
orainstRoot.sh prior to installation, what I want is to default the oraInventory to another location and run a modified version (with the new location) of orainstRoot.sh prior to installation. Can anyone tell me if this is possible or will I just have to make do with the default location. Thanks very much,
Richard...
