Bill - I have been interested in this because we are starting to develop in Java. The feedback I have been getting is that what you are describing hasn't worked out in the long run. My interpretation is that relational techniques are quite robust and mature, and it is not difficult for object-oriented programmers to adapt to the relational schema (should be limited to a few objects). Most applications have non-object-oriented tools that need access also. Appreciate anyone else's experiences. Dennis Williams

Hi,

We use a product called Persistence that takes C++ code and makes the Oracle (or any relational) database look like an object-oriented database. Does anyone else use these sorts of tools? I'm not an object-oriented guru by any means so forgive me if I sound a bit vague. Isn't Oracle capable of doing the same thing? What is the best tool for this?
