How is the the Length of any ROW in a Table/Index Manually Calculated ? NOTE - Corresponding Table's Feild Definitions are known

Do Data Values within the Fields / Null cause Different ROW Lengths ?

NOTE I do know about Feild AVG_ROW_LEN of sys.dba_tables which is populated on ANALYZE
