Dave,

zip files can be handled on many platforms these days and I'd hope that Intel Solaris can process them if they're zipping system patches. Try "which unzip" to try to locate the executable or look for a "man" entry. I can unzip files on Sparc Solaris and AIX so I suspect you won't have a problem.
