ok i give, what is the difference
between1.  shutting down a listener2.  alter database enable restricted session where only the DBAs haverestricted session.and without a listener, the local connected people can still connect to thedatabase, so you've only stoppped remote connections by stopping thelistener.joe>>> tday6_at_csc.com 09/20/01 12:20PM  >>>True.  However, I find it useful to have one listener per  instance so thatI can restrict access to an instance without having to alter
