My guess is that there really were four planes. It is pretty tough to hide a plane crash in any country - let alone the US.

The true casualty count at the World Trade Center is an open question. The press and the government are being extremely quiet about estimates. Thounsands, or even tens of thousands are possible. Right now, no one knows.
