Actually the version of Tru64 was 5.1; a patch was applied which appears to have resolved the problem. (Darn, and I was ready to petition damagement to upgrade to 8.1.7. Maybe next year.)

We are experiencing intermittent ORA1034 while the (development) database is open. Nearly all connections are loopbacks through SQLNet (SAP application). We've recently upgraded from 8062 to 8063 and included valid node checking in protocol.ora. Has anyone run into this problem and have a workaround?
