How to change error messages?

Does anyone know how to change the message that Oracle displays when an error occurs. For example:

SQL> select * from fjfjfjfjf;
select * from fjfjfjfjf

              *
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

I am sure that Oracle Corp. will really frown on this, but can I change "table or view does not exist" to something else?
