Re: Alter tablespace add datafile

Just to make sure that you have sufficient space on that mount point to resize datafile....If you want increase size by 100MB then that mount point must have more then 100MB available + some cushion to keep free space.... Regards

• Instead adding a new datafile you can resize a datafile (oracle 7.3.4 above)
• Adding and resize datafile you can do it online...
• Oracle will automatically manage the space, it doesnt mean if you add a new datafile the old one will not be used anymore, Oracle will see from the total free space of your TABLESPACE, it wont see from datafile level...
