Correct DBVERIFY logic?

I'm not sure if I have my logic correct here so I'm asking list advice. I run DBVERIFY utility on files which have been backed up to (1) Check they backed up successfully and (2) To check if the orignal file was free from corruption at time of backup. Does (2) above make sense?.

Sean :)
