As for
the recording time, its 30 hours.  There's another model that does 60 hours.

The 30
hour model gives you about 18 hours worth of decent recording quality.  So it truly not 30 hours, unless you only record cartoons or something like that.  Regardless, I can barely keep up with 18 hours of recorded stuff.  Remember, when you get home there could be 18 hours worth of stuff waiting on Tivo to be watched, and then when the next program that you want to record is started then the oldest recorded program is deleted to make room for the new show.  So you have to keep up with what is recorded or it will be deleted.

Also,
there are websites with instructions on how to upgrade the hard drive to a higher capacity drive.  Some people are bragging about having a Tivo with 120 hours.  So?  When the hell are you going to watch 120 hours worth of TV stuff?  While your watching that, Tivo is recording more for you to watch. Endless cycle...

Anyone
else use Tivo?  Experiences?   Advice?

  What
has the recording time on Tivo gotten up to and does it work on all satelite   systems ??   I have Dish .... and I know there is a package for   Direct TV and Tivo ... but not sure if Dish is supported.

size=2>While that's a great feature.  I like the ability of Tivo to     pick up shows that you like, based on your own tastes that it     "learns".  Almost on a weekly basis it captures some movie that I have     never seen or saw many years ago.  And then I will watch it that night,     or watch bits of it over a week when I have time.  Plus I dont have to     rush home to watch something on TV, Tivo saves it for me.

<FONT face=Arial color=#0000ff

    A
"Tivo" should be in every TV.  But most people just dont get it.

      Nope, not yet.  When (and
if) that happens, the advertising companies and networks are going to
      scream bloody murder.
However, you can turn on a
program, wait 10 minutes, and then watch the entire thing fast-forwarding
thru all commercials.  Super slick.  by far the coolest toy I
have ever owned...  even though I opted not to purchase the stripped
      card and adapter.

Do you know if your can setup your TIVO box
so that it can automatically ignore
        commercials when recording?  If,
so how do you do that?
