yes there are exceptions and you don't HAVE to give your child the vaccine.
on the other hand, NYC will not allow you to register your child for school if you cannot show proof of vaccination. And if you don't send your child to
either public school, private school or prove that you are homeschooling properly... that's considered child neglect
