Hello all,

I recently created some Level 5 Statspack snapshots for an Oracle 8.1.7.0 database. Here's a portion of a snapshot report:

Instance Efficiency Percentages (Target 100%)

Buffer Nowait %: 100.00 Redo NoWait %: 100.00
Buffer Hit %: 99.94 In-memory Sort %: 99.46
Library Hit %: 99.37 Soft Parse %: 99.53
Execute to Parse %: 1.59 Latch Hit %: 97.47

The particular stat that I am unsure about is "Execute to Parse %". Can anyone share with me what exactly this maps back to, and what might be tuned to improve this number?

Thanks,
Lou Avrami ( avramil_at_concentric.net )
