I had a VIC-20 with a TTY terminal emulator and a 300 buad modem that I used to access IBM mainframes from home (so I wouldn't have to drive 20 miles on a Saturday). The company found out that I was using my own equiptment to access their computers and "loaned" me a TI Silent 700 to use instead. Years later, when I left that company, I tried to give them back the Silent 700. They just laughed and told me to throw it away.
