You should never see the number go to 0. Generally if you have less than 2Mb you may need to resize your SGA. But Oracle will always attempt to maintain about 5% free. Just because you only have 5% free doesn't mean you are low on memory. What good is memory if it is isn't being used? There are much better ways to determine if your SGA is properly size. Looking at some of Steve's scripts (www.ixora.com.au) may prove helpful in this endeavor.
