NDBA, Take a look at the *Form* level property "Interaction Mode" -- set it to non-blocking so that a cancel query button will appear:

<<<Begin Help System Info>>>

Non-blocking interaction mode is useful if you expect the query will be time-consuming and you want the user to be able to interrupt or cancel the query. In this mode, the Forms runtime will display a dialog that allows the user to cancel the query.
<<<End Help System Info>>>

Hello
one of my developers has a weird(!) requirement In one of the applications the block level property query all records has been set to yes and the users want it that way, but they also want to have a dialogue popping up which would allow them to abort the query if they wish to.
The queries usually fetch a few thousand records. I tried using the properties 'maximum query time' and 'maximum records fetched' properties, but it doesn't seem to work. Oracle version 8.1.5
Forms version 6.0 /6i

thanks in advance
