RE: timed_os_statistics initSID.ora parameter

I only get os_roles and os_authent_prefix.

???

This timed_os_statistics has potential, esp. if we can then monitor info similar to Performance Monitor or snmp from within Oracle stats.

More views means more CPU drain though, I suspect.

        select from parameters where name starts with "OS".

        it populates those stats.

        Does anyone know what this does?  Sounds tantalizing.

        I tried to set it in my initSID.ora file, but Oracle8.1.7. says it
does not
        understand that parameter name.

        It shows up when I ask the rdbms for parameter values, though.

        column num format 999 heading 'Nbr'
        column name format a41 heading 'Parameter Name'
        column value format a37 heading 'Parameter Value'
