remote control the WinNT desktop.

VNC http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/ PC Anywhere

WinVNC does not offer acceptable performance over a dial-up connection. Microsoft Terminal Services do not support a bequeath connection. You can use MS Terminal Services to install binaries, but you cannot use the Net8 Assistant or the Database creation assistant, as bequeath is not a supported protocol.

You should be able to start the listener service, if it already exists. You should also be able to create a database using sqlplus - as tnsnames will work.
once again, lsnrctl and svrmgrl will not work with Terminal Services.
