FOR YOUR INFORMATION ESIS and EPFAL are now part of Logica. The Internet email addresses of the staff has changed to the following - lastnameinitial_at_logica.com eg SMITHK_at_logica.com. Emails using the old format will continue to be delivered until 30th June 2001.

Which user owns the process (I am assuming all processes here) show proc ORA_DSP_LGWR

14-JUN-2001 13:20:18.70 User: ORACLEV7 Process ID: 000B4A7E
                          Node: ESIS01 Process name:
"ORA_DSP_LGWR" Terminal:
User Identifier: [ORACLE,ORACLEV7]
Base priority: 4
Default file spec: Not available
Number of Kthreads: 1

If you look under authorize (if you have permissions, type mc authorize ) you will see that any user needs an identifier to start the database. On our systems the oraclev7 user has an identifier for a number of databases

Identifier Value Attributes
  ORA_DBA %X80010003
  ORA_LIVE_DBA %X8001002E
  ORA_LOLP_DBA %X80010018
  ORA_DRM_DBA %X8001000F
  ORA_DBM_DBA %X8001000B
  ORA_COP_DBA %X8001001E
  ORA_DAR_DBA %X8001001A
  ORA_RGD_DBA %X80010023
  ORA_RSS_DBA %X80010025
  ORA_DSP_DBA %X8001005D
  ORA_PH4_DBA %X80010020
  ORA_TSC98_DBA %X80010054

Check out if the user who owns the process currently has such an identifier and why.

HTH John
