Wander over to www.techrepublic.com and check out there for thing that justify allowing staff to telecommute. For those of you who don't know Gartner are behind the site and so some interesting information comes to light.

Mostly companies see a positive return because people don't take a sickie to get the new telly or stereo delivered. Staff are more flexible about working on weekends when required because they can work from home. Turnover was lower and so didn't have to pay those monstrous fees to agencies to fill new vacancies. Mostly the companies benefited as well, just not always so obviously as the employee does.
