This was the lead story in the Boston Globe today: "The billionaire CEO of Oracle Corp. [Larry Ellison] is putting up $150 million to create an institute to study the effects of technology on politics and economics. But instead of cultivating a relationship with a particular school, Ellicon has made the offer to both Harvard adn Stanford universities - playing the academic titans off each other while he waits for them to make their best offers."

hmmm.

The effects of technology on politics and economics is an interesting topic if anyone wants to start a new thread on this (ep?).
