I wouldn't. Learn how to use vi. vi is on every unix flavor and usually its the only editor available in single user mode. just my $.02.

Can anyone please tell me how to use emacs when i want to edit unix files.  I am using vi but want to use emacs now. I have heard that that program is good for that purpose.

Please give me some examples.
