RE: What stands for i in Oracle 8i

I heard a rumour:

Larry Ellison was sitting at a table during a presentation, got up, and started talking about the next version of the database. As usual he was all worked up about it, very excited about the new product.

The database's version number was going to be 8.1.

Well, he didn't actually say "8.1", instead he kept talking about "8i".

Then people asked him what the I stood for, and he responded: I is for Internet. "We are moving to the Internet platform..."

And then the marketing people worked like mad to start marketing Oracle8.1. as Oracle8i.

: )

I don't know if this is true.
