Hi,

To rebuild the unixware kernel use idbuild -B and then restart your system.

Its been a while, but won't osh raise your ulimit?

Kirti,

I have used ULIMIT=unlimited, ULIMIT=5000000 and so on, with the same results. After doing this change, I reboot the machine and then I log in as the user, oracle8 under which I will be installing Oracle. But when I log in as user, oracle8, and type ulimit, it gives me 2097152. But oracle installer wants the ulimit to change to 2113674 which is higher than the prev. figure.

Therefore I do not know know how to raise the limit to unlimited.

I can do this under root prompt, but as soon as I exit out from this shell (means changes are not global), the ulimit reverts to a lower limit for the oracle8 user.

Can you please suggest some parameter(s) in kernel, using scoadmin, which will then prompt for the kernel re-build and hence make the ulimit as unlimit permanent.

Also may be there is some way I can raise the ulimit for a particular user (in my case oracle8) from root?

Thanks and Regards,

Raja
