Hi

Create your own.

Kevin loney's dba handbook give good guidelines for starters, but you can extend as you please.

I have created a package in my monitoring database that has many different procedures to collect meta data from different databases across db_links. these procedures get called from a scheduler procedure that is run every hour (we use crontab).
It first checks a table to see which databases it should check and than looks at the frequency table to see what procedures it should run, as some of the stuff only needs run once a day or week.

I'm now in the proces of trying to make this info available through dynamic webpages using an apache webserver and PHP scripting. Pretty cool stuff to spend your free time on.

Hi All,

I am looking for an application or software which helps me doing my job as a DBA. I want to set up a what we call a metadatabase, which gets and holds data about the databases I administer as a DBA. I want to keep data in the metadatabase as for example the growth of data in a database for which I as DBA am responsible. I think OEM can help, but is doesnot keep track of the history. Any ideas?

TIA,
Arie Koster.
