Hi!

I'm concatenating two LONG columns (2800 characters each). I get an

ORA-01489 result of string concatenation is too long Cause: String concatenation result is more than the maximum size. Action: Make sure that the result is less than the maximum size.

Although the variables used are set as LONG, it seems that still the 4000 character limit (e.g. for varchar2) kicks in.

Any iedas anybody?

This is 8.1.6. on Win2k.

Thanks,
Helmut
