Tablespace coalesce will not defragment your tablespace. It will only coalesce adjacent free extents.
The 'ALTER TABLE xxx MOVE ....' will be very helpfull. also, having your tablespace locally managed
might also help.

hi friends,

I have tablespace of 15GB out of that 2 GB freespace is available but I have 188MB contiguous space only.
Is there any way to defragment the tablespace(more than 500MB contiguous space) except the following.

  1. Export/Import
  2. tablespace coalesce

I tried with the above two options. But there is no much improvement. Any suggestions from you welcome.

Thanks and regards,
Venkat.
