Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> Re: TZ in AIX
AIX uses the TZ variable to determine if it will follow daylight savings time or not.
We use TZ=CST6CDT which is interpreted by AIX to mean "Central Standard time in the
winter, we are
6 hours off Greenwich Time (CUT), and we change to Central Daylight Savings time
automatically on the
first Sunday in April and back to CST on the first Sunday in October"
If the TZ value is CST6, it would stay Central Standard Time ALL YEAR LONG!
