RE: Redo log size MAX = ?

That is true. The archive logs are nothing more then copies of the redo logs before they are reused.

I thought that if the transactions needed for recovery are in the online redo logs, and the online logs are available, then the RECOVER DATABASE statement will read from the online logs. Just did it this morning on a noarchivelog database, Oracle 7.3.3. If however, the data needed for recovery in the online logs has been overwritten, then the database will be unrecoverable.
