too much space after import

Hello listers ,

I am in the process of migrating an application from oracle 7.1 on openvms to oracle 8.1.7 standard edition on NT , so i do an export and import. everthing is ok except that the new data take too much space in the new database. the exported file size is only 8MB , but it took about 100MB in the tablespace. the new database is on REAID 5 volume with 8kb block size and the storage for the tablespace is set to initial 1MB next 1MB pctincrease 0.
(also the system tablespace grows to 400MB )

is this normal ?
