Taking a stab in the dark here..

When you say the users are not able to see all values, are they actually able to connect to the database?

You say that you copied all files over to a new machine, then go on to say that you have not changed anything, am I clear in saying that you have not changed your tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files?

If this is the case you will need to edit the HOST variable under the connection descriptions within these two files. It may be a machine name or an ip address.

hi all ,

He faced some hardware problem few days back. We started the system from other server with its own
operting system (unix - but higher version) . after coping orcle related files to the new OS hardisk we were able to start up the oracle (7.1.3) database also. But the end users are not able to see all the values in three diff. forms ( values are fetched by a cursor and shown on the screen ) . I tried changing cursor related parameters in INIT.ora but still facing problem. I think it is not oracle problem s we hve not change anything and we are using the same old hard disks having oracle software and database files. I have feeling that there should be some operating system parmeters for the user process which is giving problem. any suggetion is most appriciated .
