Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain Well i've been watching this thread and I dont think i've seen this explanation yet, if i've missed it, feel free to brutalize me ;) Break down and read $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/dbmsutil.sql in there is a package called dbms_space. NOTICE the docs about it, there is no other place but this package to get the info on how much space a table is using, TRUE SPACE IN USE not allocated space. Scenario: table storage(initial 600M next 100m). there are 2(yes only 2) rows in the table, avg_row_len = 70 bytes. do you want 600M as the table size or 140 bytes? That determines whether you use all of the previous stated ways to get the info, or the way i just explained.
