We have ORACLE 8.1.6 on UNIX server. The database has been run 4 years no sequence number probem. Recently, user complaint on couple of sequence nuber jump rapidly. The sequence number jump may 20, 40 or 100.

I know I can use "alter sequence XXX nocahe" to avoid this problem. I want know why it jump?

Thanks.
