Re: svrmgrl ...only startup command not working

This is Sun Solaris (2.6) and Oracle Version is 7.3.2. When I connect internal it gives ...connected to idle instance..and then startup gives the unix prompt.
kindly help me to come out of the problem. Regds

  What OS, and version of Oracle? Also are you connecting internal?

Hi all,
This is a special problem I am facing and hence I am not able to start my
database also..
At the svrmgrl prompt when I give
svrmgrl > startup
it suddenly comes on a $ promp and does not gives any error also but when I give a wrong ORACLE_SID in the environment then it search for the corresponding init parameter file and gives error. I have removed all the extra parameters from the init file and only needed
minimal parameters are there...I am not able to start my database...please
help me....to come out of the problem..
