From rockyw_99@yahoo.com Tue, 27 Feb 2001 13:22:30 -0800 From: Rocky Welch Date: Tue, 27 Feb 2001 13:22:30 -0800 Subject: RE: RE: MetaSlop - Yet More Bleating and Moaning Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain They fail to mention that the "popularity" of metalink is due to the fact that a real person won't take our TAR calls and everyone is being forced to login. The "staggering numbers" are disguntled cutomers that can't get answers any other way. Support, or lack thereof, has always been an issue with using Oracle products. --- "Mohan, Ross" wrote: > The more I think about this, the more it rankles and amuses me....I > mean, > lookit.....not that this announcement of theirs was to "the list" per > se, > but > this list is not an entirely unrepresentative mixture of Oracle DBAs out > there... > > And so, if you took someone who really new internals like Adams or Lewis > or > Gaja > and someone who understood "big" databases like Ian at Stanford and all > the > other > high quality folks here on the list, doncha think *that* team could turn > MetaStink > around?
