To change resolution until the next reboot:

login and run ffbconfig.

I use 'ffbconfig -res 1280x1024x76' on a 21 inch monitor.

The screen will get scrambled. Hit <CTRL-D> and login via your normal method.

I haven't bothered to find out how to make this change persist between reboots.

Maybe you can find out and let me know?. :)
