KOOL-AID!!!!   To give you a little background - I was actually born and spent the first part of my childhood in Bermuda! There Kool-Aid was an inegral part of growing up for me :) As well as Oreos with a glass of milk before bed time..   Now I live in Worcester in the UK where Kool-Aid is not even close to available.. Oreos are however in small boxes of 12 from the local Tescos..   What I would give for a bucket of Kool Aid every now and then... :( -----Original Message-----From: root@fatcity.com [mailto:root@fatcity.com]On Behalf Of Mohan, RossSent: Tuesday, February 06, 2001 07:51To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-LSubject: RE: OT NT2K vs Unix. a.k.a "Drinking the Kool-Aid" works well in small, isolated groups. -----Original Message----- From: Jeffery Stevenson [mailto:jeff@mpv.com] Sent: Tuesday, February 06, 2001 10:10 AM To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-L Subject: RE: OT NT2K vs Unix.   Consensus reality (as one of my friends calls it).  If everyone thinks that something should work a certain way then they will alter reality so that it works as they think it should.  With all these ads they can get the masses to believe that it really works now and then it actually will (even if it's not supposed to work properly).   :) Jeffery Stevenson Chief Databeast Tamer Medical Present Value, Inc. It always amazes me how companies identify a problem, then create ads to turn people's perception around.  So now Microsoft is telling people that their systems are reliable and never crash, so system administrators can relax. Hopefully with Win2K they actually fixed the problems, and are not just posting ads on TV to turn people's perception around to boost sales. Eventually I will figure out how the world works.  It's taking me a while, though. If Microsoft         starts making stable         products, we might just as well start using them, but  knowing Microsoft,         I'm not overly         worried.         -- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.com -- Author: Boivin, Patrice J   INET: BoivinP@mar.dfo-mpo.gc.ca Fat City Network Services    -- (858) 538-5051  FAX: (858) 538-5051 San Diego, California        -- Public Internet access / Mailing Lists -------------------------------------------------------------------- To REMOVE yourself from this mailing list, send an E-Mail message to: ListGuru@fatcity.com (note EXACT spelling of 'ListGuru') and in the message BODY, include a line containing: UNSUB ORACLE-L (or the name of mailing list you want to be removed from).  You may also send the HELP command for other information (like subscribing). -- Please see the official ORACLE-L FAQ: http://www.orafaq.com -- Author: Jeffery Stevenson   INET: jeff@mpv.com Fat City Network Services    -- (858) 538-5051  FAX: (858) 538-5051 San Diego, California        -- Public Internet access / Mailing Lists -------------------------------------------------------------------- To REMOVE yourself from this mailing list, send an E-Mail message to: ListGuru@fatcity.com (note EXACT spelling of 'ListGuru') and in the message BODY, include a line containing: UNSUB ORACLE-L (or the name of mailing list you want to be removed from).  You may also send the HELP command for other information (like subscribing).
