John,

Healthcare shouldn't be a problem if you increase your revenue by 60%. Stay with
your current insurance thru your current company with Cobra.

Be sure you're darn good before you go contracting.

Paraphrasing Janet Ruhl (who 'wrote the book' - books actually), the only way to
get your direct contracts is by having your contract or contracts lined up before
you leave your current, and maintaining a strong network of friends and co-contractors.

Last bit of advice, don't start the contracting route until you read Janet's books.
