Thanks Mladen, but does that mean that you're not able to trap all possible ugly ORA- errors if you try to setup some proactive filtering.

Usually, it's the ugly ones. All operations that involve global database objects like tablespaces and rollback segments, checkpoints and internal errors are recorded there.
