when we installed it, we had nothing oracle pre-installed. we installed the EE version [all 3 CDs worth], the one thing is you should have the DB your going to use for the chching up and running first so you can configure it at install. the same with the DB you want to use for the portal. but they don't need to be on the same box, our's aren't.
