RE: Moving SYS.AUD$ unsupported?

the data is IN the table.... or is there a new feature of Oracle that allows you to have a table in one tablespace and the data within that table in another tablespace that I hadn't heard of?

I was at a site where we enabled auditing and did not move sys.aud$

System tablespace filled and the database froze.

Move the table. Or be very very careful of what auditing you enable and monitor the hell out of it to make sure you are not eating up the system tablespace space and not fragmenting it. 'Cause if you do that, well, you either add another datafile or rebuild the database.

I suppose you could just leave aud$ in the system tablespace and then archive off the old data into a different table in a different tablespace and then purge aud$ but that seems a bit convoluted to me.
