SQL*Net not successfully loaded

We have SQL*Net installed on a network drive, and users access it from there to connect to the database. A user downloaded some Sybase software and installed it locally on her PC. This loaded Open Client 11.1.1 as its connection software. After this install, her PC fails to find SQL*Net when it needs it ... she gets the message 'SQL*Net not successfully loaded'. Her registry entries are still OK, and she can read from the network drive OK. It seems like Open Client is somehow now the default connection software, or some path or file is stopping the PC from finding SQL*Net ... it behaves as if there is no ORACLE branch in the registry at all. There seems to be no way to uninstall Open Client. When I try the method of uninstalling from Sybase's web site (using add/remove programs), nothing shows up for removal. Any ideas on why SQL*Net fails to load properly ?

Thanks in advance for any information !
