Earlier it was 2.6 that was called Solaris 6 . solaris 5.7 is also known as Solaris 7

Now I'm confused. I've never worked with SunOS before until last week. = At

SunOS server_name 5.7 Generic_106541-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10=20

  1. Is there a difference between SunOS and Sun Solaris?=20
  2. How come I don't see SunOS mentioned at the Sun Operating = Environments and Platforms web page?=20 http://www.sun.com/products-n-solutions/software/oe-platforms/index.html=
