Now I'm confused. I've never worked with SunOS before until last week. = At
the Sun home page
http://www.sun.com
I see mention of Sun Solaris version 8.

My server at work shows the following:
% uname -a
SunOS server_name 5.7 Generic_106541-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10

  1. Is there a difference between SunOS and Sun Solaris?
  2. How come I don't see SunOS mentioned at the Sun Operating = Environments and Platforms web page? http://www.sun.com/products-n-solutions/software/oe-platforms/index.html=

Or is it there and I need to clean my glasses?

any ignorant comments made are the sole responsibility of J.R. Kilchoer = and
should not reflect adversely upon my employer.
