Re: URGENT: Why are there so many Oracle (LOCAL=NO) processes?

Most likely you have a program (possibly run from cron) that keeps starting up and dying badly, and doesn't clean up its mess. The child Oracle process gets inherited by the init process (PID 1).

This might also be caused by a bad snapshot refresh, but that usually only creates one process at a time.
