The "tone" is very much subjective from the readers interpretation.



While the meaning/intent comes from the writer.



10 people can read the same email and get 10 different interpretations.



Not to change the subject, or maybe TO change the subject.  
Did the initial question ever get answered?  
I don't remember the question that started all this.
