Not 100% clear on archive switching..

When oracle switches redo and the archiver spits it to the archive destination..

My understanding is that Oracle will write 1 before 2, and 2 won't start before 1 has completed unless log_archive_max_processes > 1 or 0. True? The docs say log_archive_max_processes has an upper limit of 10. (No more than ten logs can be written at a time. Even if set to 0?)

Solaris Oracle versions 7.x - 8.1.x..

Thanks for the help..
